Ride For Rain 07-08-18 (Live @ The Valve Bar)

Ride For Rain – Great hardcore punks

Gig date: 8th July 2018

Venue: The Valve Bar, Sydney, Australia

Country of origin: Sydney, Australia

Members: Dylan, Liam, Tim and Goran

Support or headline: Supporting Sixteen Days (Sydney)

Good crowd/bad crowd: Going absolutely mental, everyone loved Ride For Rain.  I mean who wouldn’t?

Number of times seen band: 1

Crowd participation: Considering they were the first band up, they did an amazing job, and even though I am a new fan, I was very proud of them. Personally as soon as they got on stage, I thought that the crowd was already in love with them. They have the look, the sound, the style and of course, the punk screams and vocals.

Genre: Punk

Rating: 8.5/10 guitars

My review:

  • Being such a small venue and stage the band were be able to get much more intimate
  • Lots of people were running around, creating small Moshpits, and at the same time having the lead singer come and sing directly to you: it’s a win-win situation..
  • Loved the punk jumps
  • It’s always a photographers dream when there is someone with long hair performing, it just makes for some sick photos.

Set List:

  1. I don’t need you anymore
  2. Still Listening
  3. Way It Goes
  4. Teenagers
  5. Dragon Ball
  6. Job
  7. Eat, Sleep, Skate
  8. Having Fun
  9. Little Miss
  10. Fuck You

With a band like Ride For Rain you can’t NOT jump up and down like a person with ants in their pants, rock out with arms swinging left, right and centre, plus… what’s a punk band without headbanging? I was in the middle of filming the song “Still Listening” and out of the corner of my eye I saw someone do a cartwheel in the middle of the floor, which was way too cool, LIKE DAMN! DUDE. Great hardcore punks.
