The New Tarot 01-22-19 (Live @ Brooklyn Bowl)

Headlining my recent trip to Brooklyn Bowl was the immensely talented sister duo of Karen & Monika Walker better known as The New Tarot. They along with their backing band of Chas Langston on drums, Dave Khan on bass & Beth Callen on guitar put on quite the 15+song set that the crowd enjoyed from the opening notes.

The set opened with a strong performance of Kingdom, the opening track from their most recent album Book of Promises. This was followed up by another track from the album in The Ruse which sounded really good.

We eventually got an appearance of tracks from their older album God Of Science as they played Chain of Command & a super fun version of Tell Me You Like Me which everyone clearly was into.

Some other highlights include hearing Run Run Run, Heavy Metal & The Skinny. They sent the crowd home with a long time fan favorite in Stella which was a nice touch. The only thing I could say is I wish they would have played my favorite song Wait as it is such a beautiful song. However I know their next show will have it so it is something to definitely look forward to!

Speaking of their next show, I highly suggest you make it out to Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory on March 2nd for it as the bill features them headlining along with sets by The U.S. Americans (aka guaranteed awesomeness), Apollo’s Ghost, Fox Hollow & lastly The Values. Click here to get tickets.
