Gig date: 21st July 2018

Venue: The Lansdowne, Sydney, Australia

Country of origin: Sydney, Australia

Members: Dean, Charlie, Dan, Julian and Tobia

Support or headline: Support for Zeahorse (Sydney)

Good crowd/bad crowd: I’d say the crowd was great because I saw a lot of people screaming as the band walked on stage, I’m guessing they liked these guys A LOT?

Number of times seen band: 1

Crowd participation: Full-on singing to every song. Everyone was totally involved with the band and their performance throughout the whole set.

Genre: Rock

Rating: 8/10 guitars

My review:

  • The drummer was so good, he’s also a pretty great singer too
  • They have their look and sound down pat, which created the exact ‘feel’ necessary.
  • Songs were pretty cool, I love the song ‘Eden’

Set List:

  1. No News is Bad News
  2. Eden
  3. Leaves
  4. Why Do You Ask

Turtle Skull’s music is an experience you’ll just have to witness for yourself. Blending elements of psych-pop and fuzzy stoner doom, they have created their unique self-described ‘flower-doom’ through a dense mist of monolithic guitars and thrashing vocals. Turtle Skull is unlike anything you’ve heard or seen before and put in a solid and captivating performance. It’s about ‘The Vibe’ Man; it’s about the vibe.
