White Bay 06-15-18 (Live @ Oxford Art Factory)

White Bay – Producing a driven and enthralling sound that had the ‘guaranteed to remember’ feel through the night.

Gig date: 15th June 2018

Venue: Oxford Art Factory Gallery, Sydney, Australia

Country of origin: Sydney, Australia

Members: Sam, Dennis and Rory

Support or headline: Headline

Good crowd/bad crowd: As soon as White Bay came on stage the room filled up extremely quickly. A packed small room is how a rock concert should be.

Number of times seen band: 1

Crowd participation: In to it. I saw a lot of people dancing and a lot of people taking videos and photos with their phones to always remind them of the amazing concert that they just witnessed. Capturing the moment, because it was good.

Genre: Rock

Rating: 8/10 guitars

My review:

  • Such good songs
  • Tones were spot on
  • Guitar riffs were amazing
  • Dennis was great on guitar, but needs to sing more
  • Sam is a very good singer, focused. Hints of Chris Cornell (R.I.P)
  • Rory, well he just puts 100% into every strum he does on the guitar, which is what you want to see, hear and feel all the time.
  • A metal (guitar) throbbing rock trio with undertones of Cobain, Queens of The Stone Age and a sniff, in pedal use and ability, of George Thorogood in ‘bridges’.

Set List:

  1. In My Head
  2. I Know
  3. Jump Into The Wind
  4. Daydream
  5. Special
  6. Hold on me
  7. Burning Road
  8. Linear

Sydney based rockers White Bay, create extremely powerful and catchy music, packed with soaring vocals and a commanding instrumental.  They are a good solid rock band that delivers a show set list of mixed musical influences (and notable guitar strengths). Producing a driven and enthralling sound that had the ‘guaranteed to remember’ feel through the night. Which is what makes up White Bay’s signature sound.

The band formed in 2014 and released their debut single Jump Into The Wind in early 2016. The single was the first taste of their upcoming EP (set for release later in 2018).   Good job guys, keen to hear new music later this year and hopefully to see you rock out again sometime soon.
