Damian Kyle 07-22-18 (Live @ The Record Crate)

Damian Kyle – Sydney’s love focussed version of Ed Sheeran

Gig date: 22nd July 2018

Venue: The Record Crate, Glebe, Sydney, Australia

Country of origin: Sydney, Australia

Member: Damian Kyle

Support or headline: Support for Manning Patston

Good crowd/bad crowd: Pretty good, warming up and starting to get into the night.

Number of times seen band: 1

Crowd participation: I’ll use a direct quote from Damian) “I only played one cover so I wasn’t expecting too much participation, although everyone was very respectful and seemed to engage a bit with the songs, so I would say yes, they did participate.”. You’ve gotta’ love a humble singer, I saw I few girls really engage with Damian, they loved the songs and his voice. ( I did too btw, very good stuff).

Genre: Singer/songwriter

Rating: 8/10 guitars

My review:

  • Songs are all about LOVE- which I really liked, because not many guys sing about love (anymore!)
  • His voice is so angelic
  • He is a really good singer and great guitar player
  • He was a little nervous, but he pushed through the nerves and ended up putting on a stella performance.

Set List:

  1. Call Me Crazy
  2. Part Of Me
  3. Flawless
  4. Roses
  5. Love Is The Only Language
  6. Wake Me Up (Ed Sheeran cover)
  7. Don’t Leave Me Lonely

Damian Kyle is a 19-year-old, singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia. His ONLY cover was a song by none other than the amazing Ed Sheeran, the song was called Wake Me Up. Surprisingly, Damian sounded almost exactly the same as Ed Sheeran. I don’t know if that was planned but damn boy, you killed it!! I absolutely loved all his songs, especially Roses, Love Is The Only Language and Don’t Leave Me Lonely. I have a feeling you’ll be a big deal in a few years, keep up the amazing work, and never give up. Hope to see you again soon!
