ARMS 10-18-13 (Live @ Rockwood Music Hall)

Day 4 of CMJ 2013 was going to be jam packed for me as I had it in mind to see a number of shows. I started my day off early by heading to Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 for a solo acoustic performance by Todd Goldstein of ARMS.

I actually was a bit taken back as I did not know it was going to be a solo acoustic show. However I have no complaints that it was as I really got into the set from the outset. Todd opened up with a nice laid back version of Sleepwalker which is from their just released EP titled EP2. Afterwards he took us back a couple of years by playing Fleeced which is from their 2011 album Summer Skills. I found this to be one of my favorite songs of the set.

Another favorite of the set came a couple of songs later in the interestingly titled Shitty Little Disco which dates back to 2008. The song is slow paced yet had an irresistible charm to it that could not be denied. Comfort had a nice vibe to it that perfectly blended in with the calm & collective mood in the room. The set ended with another favorite of the set, a fun version of Heat & Hot Water.

After seeing the set, I definitely became a fan of ARMS & look forward to seeing them in the near future. If you get the chance to do so, check them out as you probably will enjoy them as much as I did.
