Nashville Metal Quintet Waxed Announce New Album The Continental Way Releasing April 3 via Missing Piece Records

New Single “She’s Had Enough” Out Now

Announced Headlining Nashville Show February 27 Ahead Of Spring Tour Supporting Heavy Temple

Today, Nashville-based metal quintet Waxed announced their new album The Continental Way will release on April 3 via Missing Piece Records. Featuring nine tracks packed to the gills with every move on every page in the Waxed playbook, the new album represents not only the thoughtful havoc this band is capable of wreaking, but also the kaleidoscopic, melting pot current state of today’s rock and roll culture.

The announcement comes along with a new single, She’s Had Enough,” which moves quickly from restraint to explosiveness, beginning with a deliberate, menacing bass strum before being joined by sinister guitars and crashing drums.

Devil on your shoulder, addiction, failure, watching yourself slip further down the rabbit hole. Let the sludge take over.”

Formed by frontman Luc Richards and guitarist Davis Haley, Waxed is now a full cadre with Will Alley on bass, Noel Richards on guitar, and Ian Sundstrom on drums. Blurring the edges of genre and pushing the boundaries of modern metal, thrash, hardcore, punk and rock and roll, the five-piece hard rock band has spent years melting faces in the American South and ripping its native Nashville’s scene to shreds with a heavy pour of immaculate riffage, raucous live energy and in-your-face attitude.

The Continental Way is a dense, smoldering collection that — like all great hard rock — assaults our ears in the best way, challenging what we think about conventional genres and blurring the lines between them.

The Continental Way follows the band’s 2022 debut Give Up and 2023’s Idlewild, a split EP with local heavy hitters Soot. Waxed made their label debut last year with two singles from the upcoming album, including “Christ for One Day” and “Big Blind,” which landed on Spotify’s New in Metal, Fresh Finds Heavy and New Blood playlists. Nashville Scene praised the track’s “flurries of electric riffs and battering drums” and said the song “certainly sets the stage for some circle pit energy at future shows.”

Known for the ferocity of their live shows, Waxed concocts a sludgy brew of heavy riffs, cutting leads, and quick turnarounds that make for a truly unique, full-throttle experience. Recently opening gigs for Jack White, Converge and labelmates Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, the band will hit the road again this April for a spring tour supporting Heavy Temple. But first they will perform a headlining hometown show on February 27 at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl. See a full list of tour dates below.
