18-year-old South Florida via Los Angeles-based pop singer-songwriter Szandra Mayer announces her debut EP with shimmering, delicate track “When You Know” out now. While the official title and artwork will be revealed, Mayer promises a project that explores young womanhood through confessional lyricism and intimate, vibrant production as she aims to make other young women feel seen and heard.
Mayer looks at the making of the forthcoming project as a pivotal growth and learning experience as it documents her coming-of-age. Mayer explains, “This EP is a collection of entries from my teenage girl years, capturing everything I experienced and how it affected me. It explores my confusion, delusions, overthinking, and all the moments that helped me learn more about myself.
It’s so special to me because each of these songs talks about experiences not only I’ve gone through, but that many other young girls can relate to, and that’s the part that makes me most proud of it all.”
Proud to present a sparkling track that expresses herself fully and credits her producer for creating a welcoming, warm environment. Mayer shares, “‘When You Know’ is really special to me because it was one of the first times I could fully translate my emotions into a song. Though I’ve been writing for a while, this one felt the most like me since I wrote it by myself on piano in my bedroom.”

On working with her producer, “Working with my producer, Áron, was such a new and inspiring experience. He genuinely taught me so much, and I got to be part of the process from beginning to end. Watching the song grow from a simple voice memo into a finished track was incredibly rewarding.”
On the serene lyric video set in a small town in Hungary, Mayer continues, “Filming the visualizer was such a fun experience. We shot it in a beautiful winery town in Hungary, and it truly felt like a fairytale. I even got to wear a tiny crown and daydream out the window. I think it perfectly captures the dreamy, bittersweet feeling of teenage love, along with the longing and wonder that come with it.’

ABOUT SZANDRA MAYER
Szandra Mayer is an 18-year-old pop singer and songwriter. She was born in Los Angeles, California, and currently lives in Florida. Szandra blends dreamy, girly, and cinematic pop sounds with diaristic lyricism.
She found her passion at a young age, starting with musical theater, where she fell in love with the art of music and performing. She later discovered her love for songwriting, which became a powerful form for self-expression. Szandra also loves to dance and fashion, both of which influence her personal style.
Szandra draws inspiration from contemporary pop artists such as Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter, as well as classic icons like Madonna and Britney Spears. She also finds creative influence in films and books, which inspire her approach to songwriting.
Her brand new EP, Szandra’s first full project, explores the emotions that come with being a teenage girl. Through her music, she hopes to connect with young listeners and help them feel seen and understood. This project marks just the beginning for the rising pop artist, hinting at a bright future in modern pop.
