Welsh-born, New York-based artist Matt Hitt (Drowners) has released the music video for “Carried Away,” the propulsive and jangly track from his recent EP You’ll Be Lucky. The EP was released via Killphonic Records and was produced by Timothy Lanham of The Vaccines. Hitt has also announced a headlining show at Brooklyn, NY’s Baby’s All Right on December 8th. “We filmed the video in Topanga with the vague idea that flying a kite would somehow relate to getting carried away,” Hitt explains of the video. “Unfortunately, as you can see, there wasn’t much wind that day…”
You’ll Be Lucky takes its title from a phrase Hitt’s father used to say—meaning “well, I doubt that’ll happen.” The songs wrestle with that sentiment, balancing cynicism with a flicker of hope. “They’re either in belief of or rejection of that feeling,” Hitt says. “Melancholic but hopeful, I suppose.”
After fronting the indie outfit Drowners—who released two LPs via Frenchkiss Records and toured with Foals, Cage The Elephant, and Arctic Monkeys—and more recently serving as touring guitarist for The Vaccines, Hitt steps fully into his own voice on You’ll Be Lucky.

ARTIST BIO:
Matt Hitt is Welsh musician and songwriter that took a flight to New York City in 2011 and has called it home ever since.
Soon after he formed and fronted indie band, Drowners, releasing an EP, two full-lengths and touring with the likes of Foals, Cage The Elephant and Arctic Monkeys.
A few years ago he joined The Vaccines as a touring guitarist and now, fresh off their world tour, is releasing ‘You’ll Be Lucky’; his debut solo EP. A collection of tunes reflecting on the joys, heartache and occasional disillusionment of getting older in New York.
It was recorded in New York and London and was produced by The Vaccines’ Timothy Lanham. The 5 song EP is released via Kilphonic Records.
